I’ve had the privilege of officiating weddings for over a decade, and what I’ve learned is this: the best ceremonies aren’t just about the words spoken, but about how they make you feel. A great wedding ceremony reflects your story, your personalities, and the love you share. Whether your dream ceremony is lighthearted and fun, deeply emotional, or a perfect mix of both, I’m here to help bring it to life in a way that feels authentic to you.

A Bit About Me…
Before becoming a full-time wedding officiant, I spent 20 years in the investment industry. It might sound like a big career change, but at the heart of it, both roles are about the same thing: offering guidance and helping people achieve their goals. Whether it was creating a retirement plan or crafting a wedding ceremony that feels like you, I get a thrill every time I hear, “That was exactly what we envisioned.”

Some Fun Facts…

  • My wife, Rinette, and I are travel junkies. If our schedules allow, you’ll find us exploring new places—whether it’s a quick weekend getaway or a grand adventure. 
  • We swapped life in Toronto for Ottawa in 2014 when grandkids entered the picture. Best decision ever.
  • I’ve been a motorcycle enthusiast for over 30 years and still love taking my FJR1300 out for a ride.
  • When I’m not officiating, I’m either training for another Ironman, tackling a DIY reno project, or trying to keep up with our grandkids—which, honestly, is the toughest challenge of all!

A Bit About Me…
After graduating from the University of Cape Town, I spent over 20 years as a primary school teacher—cherishing (almost) every moment with those fun, unpredictable little humans.

Life then led me on an incredible adventure to the UK, where I spent three years living in London and Scotland and traveling across Europe.

In 2007, I moved to Toronto to be closer to my family, and it turned out to be the best decision ever. It’s there that I met Jim—my partner in life and in creating unforgettable wedding ceremonies.

  • I enjoy running, cycling, and getting creative with my paintbrushes.
  • Gardening and experimenting in the kitchen are my go-to ways to unwind.
  • I love to travel—whether it’s to a new country or just a new vegetarian restaurant.
  • My favorite part of officiating? Meeting couples, hearing their love stories, and listening to guests say, “That was the best wedding ceremony I’ve ever been to.”
  • But nothing compares to the time I spend with my two amazing grandkids.
